OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane & diagonal nail art

*Nothing to disclose

Hello! So in a few of my blog posts this week I have mentioned I visited my family last weekend. They live about four hours’ drive away from where I live so me and my husband typically make a weekend of it. So, as you do when in a different town, I went shopping and picked up two polishes: LA Colors Expressionism, dual-ended neon pink and multi-glitter polish from the Flash Pop! Collection, and OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane, a beautiful deep burgundy polish from OPI’s recent San Francisco Collection.

I was drawn to In the Cable Car-Pool Lane instantly; I had seen a few swatches of the polishes on some other blogs but I didn’t realise how gorgeous In the Cable Car-Pool Lane was! I took my pictures in my grandparents’ sun room so you might notice a different background with the photos below.

In the Cable Car-Pool Lane is more a dark red jelly rather than a creme; it even looks a bit purple in some light. In the photos I have two coats on, but I really think I could have used a third coat. Application was easy as usual with OPI polish.

While seeing my family I also did my grandmother’s and mum’s nails. We did the obligatory nail shot below. My mum’s nails are left (you will see I recreated the nail art I showed you earlier this week), my hand is in the middle (wearing In the Cable Car-Pool Lane) and my grandmother’s nails are metallic pink using Ulta3 Celebutant!

I wore In the Cable Car-Pool Lane for a couple of days and then decided to do a little diagonal nail art design. I don’t know what else to call it. I used two dabbed coats of Revlon Brilliant Bordeaux and then used a black striper from BYS to mark off the diagonal lines.

You may notice my nails are a bit more square shaped than my usual squoval shape. This is because I have decided to try out the square trend. I quite like it. As my nails are short, I have to wait until they grow a bit for some of the edging to have more impact, but it’s a start! Thanks for reading!
