The Cuteberry Nail Challenge day 8: Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band inspired nails & September What’s In-die Box? nail mail

Whoa! Long title, hey? Today I bring you day eight ofΒ The Cuteberry Nail Challenge, which is your favourite album cover. My all-time favourite band is The Beatles. I have always loved The Beatles, but it wasn’t until university when I started to fully appreciate their greatness. My favourite album by far is Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. I’m not totally sure why either… there’s just something about it that appeals to me. I mean, this album started the whole concept album trend that was made big by other bands such as Pink Floyd and Genesis.

So I took the inspiration for my nail art from the cover of the album, namely the colours John, Ringo, Paul and George are wearing as well as the white button-y things on the front of their clothes.

Polishes I used:

  • Ulta3 Pink Hibiscus (pink)
  • Ulta3 Coral reef (orange)
  • Revlon Love Hurts (the green side called Love)
  • Mode Cosmetics Hook Me Up (blue)
  • Kiss Nail Art Paint striper in white

I really liked this nail design, even if it may be a little abstract. But there was no way I could replicate the whole album; I’m not even sure if the best nail artists could!

Anywho, this week I also received some awesome nail mail: my September What’s In-die Box?! This month’s theme is Sex and the City. I will be able to give you more information when I swatch them on the weekend, but at this stage I have to say I am a little underwhelmed by the polishes. I love Sex and the City and none of them lived up to my expectations apart from one from Peita’s Polish. I have below the packaging and some bottle shots for you.

It came in perfect packaging, as always! Very exciting to unwrap each polish.

So, that’s it for me. Sorry about another long post but I just have so much to post about lately! By the way, my favourite Beatle is Ringo, if you were wondering. Thanks for reading!

Nail mail & nail art with Mode Cosmetics & Sally Hansen

Hello! Today I have some nail mail to show you and what I did to my Mode Cosmetics Fashionista manicure.

Nail Mail frankens Revlon China Glaze

Look at these beauties! I recently bought some polishes from the lovely Nat at No Holos! Frankens and Nail Art‘s blog sale. From left we have China Glaze Material Girl, Revlon Whimsical, Nat’s franken Raspberry-Putina, Nat’s franken I ❀ Unicorns and Nat’s franken Playing in the Rain. I am yet to try any but I am very excited! I am especially looking forward to trying I ❀ Unicorns and Whimsical.

Anywho, I couldn’t help myself but add onto Mode Cosmetics Fashionista with some Sally Hansen First Blush French tips inspired by this post from Flight of Whimsy.

I really like this look! Unfortunately for some reason the top coat I used (Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat) made a few bubbles. I will try again with a different colour combination soon though.

This look was created with just some nail art tape and then two coats of polish over the top. Very simple.

Also, I want to apologise to everyone about me changing the layout of the blog recently. It seems WordPress themes and I are having an argument about how my blog should look. I will decide soon, I promise!

Let me know of what you think about the French tips. Thanks for reading!

Mode Cosmetics Fashionista

Hello! First up I want to say I have cracked the 10 follower mark. Thank you so much for following me. I hope I am interesting enough for you. It’s been less than two weeks so I think I’m doing a good job, right?

Today I have a beautiful pink creme to show you, Mode Cosmetics Fashionista. I found out through Vibrant Point of View it’s a shade of cerise. My photos below really do not accurately show the pink of this colour, it shows up more of a red.

Mode Cosmetics FashionistaStupid camera and lighting! Grrr. Anywho, application was extremely easy, to be honest you could nearly get away with it in one coat, but I put two on. However, by the end of the day I had a chip on my right pointer finger! I have not had a chip with polishes in ages so I was dumbstruck.

Mode Cosmetics FashionistaI can’t believe I still can’t get the colours right! Believe me this is not a red! Vibrant Point of View‘s review has much more accurate colour pictures.
