Fox & Owl Mmm Cupcakes

*Nothing to disclose

Hello! He he, the title of this post has put me in a Simpsons mood with Homer’s famous “Mmm, cupcakes” saying at work. Anywho, tonight I bring you the final Fox & Owl polish I own, called Mmm Cupcakes from Fox & Owl’s Pink Collection, after showing you my three others: Kitsune, Purrrr and Snow Leopard. I think I’ve saved the best for last.

Mmm Cupcakes is a white creme base with black and neon pink glitters in hearts, hexes, squares and diamonds of various sizes. It’s really a wonderful combination – so simple, yet looks so complex. What you see is two easy coats with a top coat of Seche. You could probably layer one coat over a white base but I like how some of the glitters are covered by the white. I removed the polish using the foil method and I didn’t have any problems.

DETAILS

  • Where to buy: Fox & Owl
  • Cost: AU$9.98
  • Volume: 12ml
  • Coats to opacity: Two

A polish like this reminds me why I need more white-based glitters in my collection. They’re just that bit more fun I think than glitters in a clear base and the white makes it look really fresh. Yay for indies. Thanks for reading!

Fox & Owl Snow Leopard

*Nothing to disclose

Evening! Tonight I’m bringing you my third polish from Australian indie brand Fox & Owl after showing you Kitsune and Purrrr previously. Tonight’s polish is called Snow Leopard, which is also from the Pastel Collection like the other two.

Snow Leopard is a beautiful pastel blue with purple and white hexes, squares and circles of various sizes and some iridescent glitter. Also, there are white snowflake glitters that I fell in love with and couldn’t wait to put on my nails but while I could see them in the bottle I could not fish any out! I can still see them now just staring at me, taunting me in the bottle. So that was a little disappointing. But I think it still looks nice on the nail. What you see here is two coats with Seche top coat.

So far I’m really liking how Fox & Owl’s polishes are very subtle. You will see when I show you my last polish of Fox & Owl I own, Mmm Cupcakes, that this is very different, but I think it’s also due to it belonging to another collection (duh, Haylee). Keep an eye out for that one soon. Thanks for reading!

Fox & Owl Purrrr

*Nothing to disclose

Hello! Tonight I have another Fox & Owl polish for you after I showed you Kitsune in my last post. Like I said before, this is one of four Fox & Owl polishes I bought during Fox & Owl’s Easter free shipping sale. The polish today is called Purrrr and I’ve just realised today it is part of a Fox & Owl’s Pastel Collection along with Kitsune and another polish I bought, Snow Leopard! Err, So I was wrong about them not being of the same theme like I said in my last post, but I will still show them to you separately anyway.

Purrrr is a pastel pink neon-like creme with aqua and light blue dots, hexes and stars. In the bottle it looked so packed with glitter just wanting to come out, but I found it hard to get out the glitter pieces, especially the stars, so I did have to fish to get what you see. I was a bit disappointed it wasn’t “chunkier”. But, in saying that, the actual formula of the creme was lovely, it’s just the glitter that didn’t want to cooperate! What you see is two coats with a top coat of Seche.

I think once again I got into a photo frenzy. It’s not my fault! The polish is just so pretty! I really like the shade of pink in this, it’s not over-the-top girly I don’t think. Thanks for reading!

Fox & Owl Kitsune

*Nothing to disclose

Evening! Tonight I have a new Australian indie brand to introduce to you and one of its polishes. I bought the following polish (as well as three others) during Fox & Owl’s Easter free shipping sale. I was going to bring them to you in one post but I realised that because I chose randomly, the polishes aren’t really of the same theme and so I’ll bring them to you separately over the coming week. The polish is called Kitsune and it’s a gorgeous polish, my favourite from the bunch I bought, which is why I’m showing it to you first! πŸ™‚

Kitsune is off-white creme base with yellow and neon pink glitters – shapes of diamonds, hexes and finer glitter. What you see is three coats. I was happy at two, but I wanted to see how much more it would build up with three, and I quite like the look. I have a coat of Seche on top. The formula was wonderful and actually, I would compareΒ  it to an Emily de Molly. It was like butter and the glitters didn’t stick up at all. The brush is round, not wide, but it’s decent to work with, I didn’t have a hard time.

I loved taking photos of this colour! Such a fun polish and I think because of its off-white base it’s pretty neutral, too. The one thing I did find peculiar about the bottles I ordered is that they are not labelled with names. Not very handy for nail polish lovers like me, I need things named, he he.
