Celestial Cosmetics First, Last & Always, July LE 2016 & August LE 2016

*Press sample

Good evening! Today I bring you a swag full of Celestial Cosmetics goodies; two LEs and also the new Celestial Cosmetics site exclusive that you can only buy at Celestial’s Australian store or international store. Also, you’ll notice in the pictures of the August LE 2016 my nail shape is different. I’ve gone a bit rounder as my nails just seemed to be breaking a lot more frequently than usual. For some reason rounder nails are stronger for me. Enjoy!

First, Last & Always is Celestial’s site exclusive and only available at the Australian store or the international store. It has a dark purple jelly base with gorgeous colour-shifting flakes that are simply amazing in any light (I mean, check out that macro!). Nicki, the make at Celestial, named the polish in honour of her late parents, which I think is a touching tribute. Nicki’s last collection, the We Breathe Fire Collection, also had a similar family back story, and I think it’s wonderful Nicki is able to channel her emotions into these stunning works of wearable art. I’m wearing three thin coats here with top coat, so you can see it builds up terrifically, but I’ve seen some swatches with just one coat over black or purple and that looks amazing, too. It’s really up to you on how to wear it!

The August LE 2016 is based on the flower gladiolus. How stunning is the inspo pic above? The photo was chosen by the Celestial Stars Facebook group. If you’re not a member I encourage you to join as there’s a lot going on in there! It’s a coral-orange base with some scattered holo, white sparks, gold flakes and iridescent microglitter. I’ve done two coats with a top coat, but I found it was still sightly bumpy so you’ll probably need to use two coats of top coat just in case.

The July LE 2016 is a stunning polish based on the waterlily. This is a must-have for all the purple fans out there. It has a scattered holo base with violet sparks, lavender flakes, purple
holo microglitter and gold flakes and microglitter. There’s a lot going on, but it translates quite smoothly onto the nail, with just two coats and a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Light Year Quick Dry Top Coat all you see here. I think this is my favourite Le from this year, with the April LE 2016 coming a close second.

Happy birthday, Celestial Cosmetics (April LE 2016, Celestial Dream & Spell Wood)

*Press sample

Hello there! Tonight I have a big bag of Celestial Cosmetics goodness for you. At the end of April it will be Celestial Cosmetics’ third birthday. Happy birthday, Celestial! This is so incredibly great for a small business and an Australian one at that, too. To celebrate, creator Nicki has made a birthday polish (which she does every year) called Celestial Dream. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate a birthday – who doesn’t like nail polish! πŸ˜€ I have this, as well as the LE for April and Spell Wood to show you tonight. Let’s take a look.

As I said above, Celestial Dream is a birthday polish to celebrate Celestial Cosmetics’ third birthday on April 25. This is a true purple linear holo and it’s so refreshingly delicate for a holo! It’s very reminiscent of the recent Unicorns and Rainbows Collection, in that the holo just shines with any hint of light, but it’s really a worthwhile standout on its own as well. As a purple lover I majorly love it! Best of all, it’s super shiny. What you see here is just two coats without top coat. Adding a top coat would make it sing.

This stunner is the LE for April 2016. It’s based on the sweet pea and I have to admit, Nicki did such a wonderful job here! Wearing this polish was a lot of fun, mainly because in the shade it’s a subtle duochrome from purple to deep green, but it also has the most beautiful green flecks that just make the polish “pop” that little bit more. Out in the sun it’s a straight-up deep purple linear holo with a bit of a green flame. It’s a very special polish and one I highly recommend. This is two coats with a top coat of Seche.

Spell Wood is an exclusive polish for Nail Whisperer’s March My Favourite Things box. I’d never heard of the box before, but basically it’s a monthly box of four indies that come together under one theme, with March’s being “walking through the enchanted forest”. It’s a deep green scattered holo with bronze and green flecks throughout. The flame on this one is lovely and golden. I’m wearing two coats without top coat – again, another shiny stunner! Such a shame this is an exclusive, but I wanted to show you anyway since Nicki was kind enough to provide me with a sample.

Celestial Cosmetics March LE 2016

*Press sample

Good evening! Tonight I bring you the LE for March by Celestial Cosmetics, which is a really unique take on the humble daffodil. I really love Celestial’s pinks though, so I’m not going to complain. Once again, the inspiration photo (which is below) was voted on in the Celestial’s Stars Facebook group, so if you would like to have your chance to vote on next month’s flower, I encourage you to join the group. It’s a lot of fun. Now, on to the polish!

The March LE 2016 is a bright pink linear holo with iridescent flakes and silver sparks. This was very easy to apply in two buttery coats and the flakes didn’t rise during application, but I did add a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Solar Ray Quick Dry Top Coat just in case. The holo of this polish is really, really pretty and is very delicate. To put it another way, I think the holo effect pairs well with the colour. And let me tell you, it’s so much better in person!

DETAILS

I just checked the websites and it looks like the March LE 2016 is only on the Australian site so far, but I think Nicki (the genius behind Celestial Cosmetics) is looking to get it up on the international site soon, so keep an eye out for it. Thanks for reading!

Celestial Cosmetics February LE 2016

*Press sample

Hello! Tonight I have a stunning polish for you from Celestial Cosmetics. It’s the February LE 2016 and again it’s been inspired by a flower, this time the iris (see inspiration pic below, as voted by the members of Celestial’s Stars). As you know, I’m not overly keen on blues, greens and oranges (fussy much!?) but I have to say, this is such a wonderful blue, it’s gt the right amount of purple in it to keep me interested yet also enough blue itself… does that make sense? Arrgh it’s so hard to describe so I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

February LE 2016 is a purple-leaning blueΒ scattered holo with colour-shiftingΒ flakies. It was so easy to apply! This is two coats with a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Solar Ray Quick Dry Top Coat; a really lovely top coat that dries pretty quick, too! There’s just something about the scattered holo-ness and flakies that I can’t seem to get enough of. I’m wearing the polish as I type and I have to keep stopping to look at my nails and just be amazed. It really is a classy shade of blue.

DETAILS

February LE 2016 is available on the website now for the whole of February. If you live outside of Australia you can also pick this up from the international website too, but I don’t think it’s been added yet. In the meantime though, the link to the international Celestial Cosmetics website is here. Well, let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!
