Femme Fatale Cosmetics December Christmas 2016 COTM

*Press sample

Why, hello! Tonight I bring you a long overdue post of Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ December Christmas 2016 COTM. There’s two polishes that are quite complementary and don’t necessarily look like “Christmas”. Unfortunately these polishes aren’t available on the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website anymore, but I had a quick Google and found them over at Hypnotic Polish (Europe-based) if you do happen to fall in love.

Because these pics are from way back last year, you’ll notice I have a different nail shape. I did the pointy nail look for a couple of months before changing back to squoval in the New Year. Let me know what you think; maybe I should take them up again?

Femme Fatale December 2016 COTM Festive Blithe swatched by Dry, Dammit!

Tinsel Twinkles is a deep purple crelly with iridescent glitter and a smattering of holo microglitter. It’s really pretty and wearable, isn’t it? From memory, in the first picture I’m wearing two coats without a top coat in the first pic and then in the macro, I’ve topped the two coats with Seche Vite. I definitely recommend wearing a top coat as the glitter can stick out a bit and a top coat just smooths it all over nicely. Formula-wise, I used thick coats but you could probably do three layers of thin coats to get it to the same level of opacity you see here.

Festive Blithe is a gorgeous polish and I love staring at that macro! It’s a teal jelly with pink shimmer, teal holo and iridescent glitter. This is two coats with a top coat of Seche. You can still see some slight VNL at the tip, but I kind of like it like that! The formula on this one was just as good as Tinsel Twinkles; very manageable and I even found the glitter to play a bit nicer when on the nail.

So, what do you think? Sorry I held these pics back from you. I felt so awful when I didn’t post them during December. But at least you get to see them now. Thanks for reading!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics November Fiends exclusives & COTM

*Press sample

Hello, hello! I bring to you today some swatches of Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ November colour of the month (COTM) polish and the November Fiends exclusives (Fiends is Femme Fatale’s very own group on Facebook, so go check it out if you haven’t already). I want to start with the exclusives as they’re a lot of fun and also inspired by pictures the members of the Fiends group submitted, which I think is lovely. Let’s dive in.

CLOSE YOUR EYES

I don’t know why this is called Close Your Eyes because I think most people will want to stare at this polish (geez, how tacky did that sound? But true!). This polish was inspired by the puffed chest colour of a bird image submitted by a Fiends member. It’s a blue-leaning-turquoise crelly with holo glitter, purple shimmer and green iridescent glitter. Because it is a crelly, you can see the tips and edges of the nail, but I actually don’t mind this. A warning though – this polish is a stainer. My nails were blue for a while after wearing and because I also wore some studs on the top of a few nails after taking these photos, you could still definitely see the shape of the studs on my nails once I removed the polish. So please do wear a good base coat. I’m wearing two coats here, but I think a third coat would look good as well, if you wanted to see what that looked like. I’ve topped it with Seche Vite.

SEEING YOUR SOUL

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Seeing Your Soul Fiends exclusive swatched by Dry, Dammit!

Here we have Seeing Your Soul, which is inspired by a pop art image suggest by a Fiends member. The base is a soft pink-beige crelly, which I adore. I would just love a polish like this: muted, yet insightful. Anyhow, the polish has a gold shimmer and glitter added in white, baby yellow, silver holo, aqua, fuchsia and yellow of various sizes. I found it hard to make the application look like how it looks in the bottle, but somehow I don’t mind the sparseness. I’m wearing two coats with a top coat of Seche.

ENTWINED IN DUST (NOVEMBER COTM)

Finally, we have Entwined In Dust, the November 2016 COTM. It has a burgundy base and a soft bright pink to gold shine, along with some micro gold holo glitter (as seen in the macro image). It’s a bit more reserved than Femme Fatale’s usual COTM offering, but for traditional polish lovers this will go down a treat. This is two coats with a top coat of Seche.

So, what do you think of the November offering from Femme Fatale Cosmetics? Which is your favourite? Thanks for reading!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics October COTM Duo

*Press sample

Hi there! Today I bring you the Femme Fatale Cosmetics COTM Duo for October. Usually the COTM is just one polish, but I think with October being such a great time of year for inspiration (think Halloween and all things gory in general) it would be hard for anyone to keep it to just one polish when inspired by Stephen King’s novel The Shining. So this is what Sophie (the creator and owner of Femme Fatale) has done. The COTM Duo is currently available at the Femme Fatale Cosmetics Australian site in a 48-hour presale and it will be heading to the Femme Fatale Cosmetics international site in mid-October. Let’s take a look.

CABIN FEVER

Cabin Fever stole my heart straight away. If you like Femme Fatale’s Liquid Pearl (from last year’s The Midsummer Night’s Dream Collection), then you’ll also be a fan of Cabin Fever. It has a milky base with red shimmer, red iridescent glitter and black holo glitter. It can be worn alone (as my pictures show) or layered over another polish. I just love the red shimmer! I’m wearing two coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.

THE OVERLOOK

The other stunner from this duo is The Overlook. The Overlook is a bright, rich red-magenta linear holo with silverΒ holo microglitter. This polish was a lot of fun to wear and I think it’s pretty work appropriate, too, even though it’s inspired by The Shining. This is two easy coats with a top coat of Seche.

Now, I kind of think Cabin Fever and The Overlook are made to go with each other, so here’s a couple of pics of Cabin Fever over The Overlook. An interesting combo indeed!

Even though these are a duo, you’ll notice you can buy these polishes individually, which is great news in case you like one and not the other, for example. Also, if you like the look of both but don’t have the budget this month, both polishes will be back in the Femme Fatale Cosmetics December presale. So, plenty of time to save. Thanks for reading!

Hiya! Today I have for you Femme Fatale Cosmetics September Oops polishes and colour of the month (COTM) polish. There’s some really nice shades here for you to take a peek at and later this month they’ll be available at the Femme Fatale Cosmetics US site, too, after a very successful sale with the Australian site at the beginning of the month (and in case you missed out!). Let’s see, shall we?

I wanted to start with my favourite, which is called Skills in Magic. It’s a warm burgundy crelly with shimmer and gold, copper and black glitter. I love the black glitter – you just don’t see enough of it around. This is two coats with a top coat of Seche.

Summer All Year Round is a soft peachy-pink-nude crelly with gold shimmer and microglitter. I did three thin coats with this one and in some lighting you can still see the nail line. I’ve topped it with Seche.

STARLA

Back in ’82 is a vibrant red-leaning coral, with hints of pink depending on the lighting. It has a golden shine overall with gold holo glitter. This one will look a bit “bumpy” once applied, but I don’t mind that. I’ve used two coats plus a top coat of Seche.

The COTM is Chirp (I love the name!). This one was the top-voted suggestion in the Fiends group on Facebook, which was: “Duochrome, periwinkle and lavender”.Β Chirp is a lavender creme with a blue overlay and scattered holo glitter. This was two coats with a top coat of Seche.

DETAILS

  • Where to buy: Available soon at the Femme Fatale Cosmetics US store
  • Cost: Unknown at this stage, but for the Australian store prices ranged from AU$8.50 to AU$10.50 excluding GST

So, as I mentioned above, the Australian sale for these has already occurred, but if you’re able to buy from the US store then these will be there soon.
