Celestial Cosmetics March 2017 releases

*Press sample

I’m not really sure how to start this post, given my long absence from blogging. Pretty much four months! That’s a new record for me. I guess I’ll try to keep my story short and sweet because I have the March 2017 releases from Celestial Cosmetics to show you, which are way more fun to read about.

Put simply, there’s been a few things that got me down at the place I work and this happened at the same time as finding out my husband and I are expecting our second child (due July!). This combo pretty much just made me feel crappy both mentally and physically and I became super antisocial; even social media I found difficult to use. But I’m feeling a lot better now and I appreciate all the love and support those nearest and dearest to me have provided.

One of those people is the ever-wonderful Nicki, owner and creator over at Celestial Cosmetics. She’s been very supportive and just let me have my own time to get back into the swing of things, which is why I’m here today, to show off the wonderful new array of colours from Celestial for March. Let’s take a look!

Primal Fear is a purple-based creme with a golden shimmer. I also found up close some sparks of red, which just makes this even more complex! I love how it looks and the formula is perfect. Pictured is two coats without top coat.

Eye of Envy is a green jelly-based polish with colour-shifting flakes and colour-shifting iridescent microglitter. I like the look of Eye of Envy out and about rather than indoors because that’s when all the glitter comes to play. This is three thin coats with a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Light Year Quick Dry Top Coat.

Android Tears is a soft purple-leaning grey creme with pink to violet colour-shifting shimmer. This is such a soft and delicate polish. It also is a nice variation of a neutral polish, if you have a workplace or occasion to consider. This is two coats without top coat.

Celestial Cosmetics Twisted Selection swatched by Dry, Dammit!TWISTED SELECTION

Twisted Selection is a blue-to-purple duochrome. The formula was easy to work with, but of course I still managed to leave some brush strokes in, so keep an eye our for that when you’re applying and don’t go too heavy-handed like me! This is two coats without a top coat.

I found Mesmerised so difficult to capture! I ended up taking the shots indoors, otherwise the glitter seemed to disappear in the harsh sun. Mesmerised is a dark blue-based jelly polish packed with iridescent colour-shifting glitter. The glitter is really pretty in this one – I can see how Nicki thought of the name! You’ll need a thick top coat for this one as it does eat the top coat! Also, wear a good base coat because it can stain and there’s nothing worse than blue “natural” nails! I’m wearing three thin coats with a generous top coat of Light Year.

Celestial Cosmetics Walk of Shame swatched by Dry, Dammit!WALK OF SHAME

Walk of Shame is another stunning duochrome, which looks quite coppery but then shifts between gold, orange and a rusty red. Up close it has these stunning pinkish sparks and I think it would be a really complimentary polish for most people. This is two coats without top coat.

So, what do you think? The standouts for me areΒ Android Tears and Walk of Shame. I mean, who doesn’t love a good shimmer or duochrome? Thanks for sticking with me these past few months and as always, thanks for reading! It’s great to be back.

Throwback Thursday with ulta3: Sunset Pink, Copper & Tahitian Lime stripes nail art

*Press sample

Hello! Tonight I bring you some nail art using some older ulta3 polishes. I say older but really I just mean not from any “recent” collections (roughly 12 months). They’re not too old to be honest, you can still find them all about. The Heat Group recently sent me four ulta3 polishes: Sunset Pink, Copper, Tahitian Lime and Silver Glitter. I decided to use the first three as nail art in a Throwback Thursday post to share the love of ulta3.

I decided to do simple stripes, with the twist being that it’s slightly more to one side rather than just through the middle, if you know what I mean. I just like that one one side it looks like a solid colour:

But on the other side it’s “Whoa! A rainbow of colour!” What fun, hey!?:

I really like this colour combo too of the pink, green and copper together. I never would have thought of it . I wore it for three days and got a few compliments on it at work, so I was very happy. I think people at work are used to me wearing nail polish now and usually don’t say anything, so it’s nice to get some kind of reaction. And can you believe what you see here is just one coat of each colour!? I know, great, hey? It was a super quick and fun look to create so go do it I say! Thanks for reading!
