One year blogaversary featuring Sinful Colors Easy Going and nail art

*Nothing to disclose

Evening! Before April ticks over into May (gah! Who else cannot believe that!?) I want to celebrate my one year blogaversary with you. The actual date of this momentous occasion was April 8. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed my first year of blogging. I’ve really had a ball and I want to thank you so much for sharing it with me. I created this blog mainly to document my nail polish journey, but it’s turned into more than that I think. You’ve been with me travelling Europe, adopting the beautiful Shelbs – thank you so much for following me! Altogether I have 154 wonderful followers from both WordPress and Bloglovin’. Thank you again! 🙂

Looking back at Dry, Dammit! I can safely say I am getting better at this blogging thing. My photos are the most noticeable difference. I think they are waaaay better than what I was taking when I first started. Then there’s the actual nail polish application itself. Still room for improvement, but definitely more consistent than when I first started. What do you think?

So tonight I am featuring Sinful Colors Easy Going and then a re-do of some nail art I originally did in April 2013. To be honest, I haven’t featured too much nail art on this blog, so I’d like to get into that more – especially more complex nail art. That and tutorials. You can never read too many tutorials!

Easy Going is just a fantastic pale pink / eggshell (depending on the light) creme polish. This is definitely a polish everyone should own, it looks great and I reckon because it’s not a true nude, it would go with most skin types. On me it looked a bit fluro! What you see here is three coats with Seche. I used three coats as I wanted to see how much more of an impact three coats would have rather than two; but two would be sufficient for sure. This polish would be great at work, on the weekend, at a party… basically anywhere! I had been wanting it for ages and I had recently read a few reviews about it. I figured for AU$4 I should finally try it out myself. I’m so glad I have!

DETAILS

  • Where to buy: Target, Priceline or Big W
  • Cost: Target and Priceline AU$4.95, Big W AU$4
  • Volume: 15ml
  • Coats to opacity: Two

So, onto the nail art inspired by a French tip design I did way back in April 2013. I wanted to do this design so show you how far I’d come overall, but when I put the top coat on top (Seche)… well, you can guess what happened. Yes, some of it dragged! So even after a year I still have to learn to be patient and wait longer for the polish to dry. But from afar it looks great so I hope you still like it.

On top of Easy Going I have used one coat of Face of Australia Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend from its Screen Siren Collection. I love the look, way more than my April 2013 design! Plus it’s slightly neater too, which helps. The fact there is only one photo in the original post is proof enough that I didn’t want to show you the rest of my design due to its messiness. He he.

Is there anything you would like to see different about Dry, Dammit!? Any post I could do or themes I could do that would make it more interesting for you? A change of blog layout? Pictures of Shelbs? I have a few ideas myself, but I’d love to hear your feedback. Eventually I’d like to do a giveaway… but I’m figuring out the logistics of it. As always, thanks for reading!
