Pond manicure nail art featuring essence Bubble Gum

Good evening! A quick post tonight to show you some nail art I wore earlier this week. I finally tried my hand at the “pond manicure” that was apparently started by Olive View Fashion. I think it’s an awesome look and it was reasonably easy to do as well. There’s a great tutorial by Adventures in Acetone here if you’d like to try it yourself. Essentially you need a really good jelly polish. And I found a great jelly recently by essence called Bubble Gum, which is a pink jelly with pink shimmer. Take a look.

Now, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you might notice I’ve rarely – if ever – used the word manicure. I don’t know why, but for some reason it grinds my gears! But I don’t think just calling it pond nail art would be the same, do you?

Also, I found because you need so many layers of the polish to create the “pond” look, you go through a bit of polish. You’ll see in the second photo above the fill line is reasonable low – but that’s just one use! The 8ml won’t go far if you like doing this nail art. What do you think? Thanks for reading!
