Celestial Cosmetics Hokulani

*Nothing to disclose

Why, hello there! I know it’s been almost a month since my last post but I’ve been pretty busy working two jobs lately. Now that I’m into the swing of things I should be getting back on track. I wanted to quickly show you a beautiful polish by Celestial Cosmetics called Hokulani. This polish was part of a Hella Holo Customs order from July and it was worth the wait getting it. I’m so glad I bought it!

All the photos above were taken outside in direct sunlight. Hokulani is a purple-berry linear holo with a very strong flame, which, as you can see in the pictures, has a slight pink slant to it. The formula is silky smooth and very easy to apply. I’ve done two coats but you could easily do one coat with careful application. Because of its strong holo effect, this is a great polish to wear in sunny weather. Do so and be forever mesmorised!

Now, because Hokulani was a limited release for Hella Holo Customs, it’s no longer available. So if you’re able to snag one in a destash, I say grab it. Also, for your information Hella Holo Customs is a Facebook group that invites polish makers to create limited edition polishes for its members. I’m pretty sure it’s US based, but open internationally. Well, it must be because I’m a member and I’m certainly not in the US. Well, that’s it from me for now. Thanks for reading!

Celestial Cosmetics Memories Collection swatches and review

*Press sample

Hello! I just wanted to say sorry about all the lack of posts lately. I’ve just started a new job and it’s been a bit hectic to say the least, especially with sorting out a little one! But now I’m into the swing of things I’ll return to more frequent posting again. So now that’s out of the way, on to the polish! Today I bring you Celestial Cosmetics’ Memories Collection, which is a trio created by Nicki that represents some of her most vivid memories from when she got married and had her son. I think this is a lovely backstory to a collection. Take a look!

MIDNIGHT MEMORIES

Midnight Memories is a blue linear holo. It’s a got a very elegant feel to it and I think it would be great for galaxy nails as the sparkle in this stunning. The formula was lovely and this is two coats with a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Solar Ray Quick Dry Top Coat. This polish is inspired by Nicki and her family watching the stars together.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT

Live In The Moment is a bright pink with a blue overlay as well as green and gold shimmer. The blue overlay is more prominent outdoors, whereas indoors (as above) you see more of a golden finish. The formula of this one was also lovely and what you see is two coats with a top coat of Solar Ray. Live In The Moment is inspired by Nicki learning to live in the moment as a wife and mother.

BITTER TEARS

Finally we have Bitter Tears, a lovely dusty green linear holo. This is the type of green I’m really drawn to – not too yellow and not too blue. Formula was easy to work with as well and what you see is two coats with a top coat of Solar Ray. Bitter Tears is inspired by the arguing that happens as newlyweds, which I can very much relate to when I got married!

This collection is a lovely tribute to moments of Nicki’s life and I think it’s lovely polish makers can do this in a creative outlet for all to enjoy. My favourite is Midnight Memories as I think there’s a lot of nail art possibilities with it. What do you think? Thanks for reading!
