Hello! I’m very excited to bring you another wonderful collection from Celestial Cosmetics. It’s a collaboration collection with Serenity Nails based on the movie Almost Famous called It’s All Happening and it’s launching this Friday, July 31. This is such an impressive collection, all the polishes are a little different and I’m loving how they are reminiscent of the vivid colours of the ’70s. I received all but one polish from the collection – Swill Merchants – for review. Before we begin I’ll let you know now all the photos were taken outdoors in natural light – I had a beautiful winter weekend to take advantage of. Take a look!

INCENDIARY

Ermahgerd! This is such a powerful silver linear holo that almost seems to have a foil finish. And it has double the wow factor too because it also includes platinum silver flakes, so it looks just as stunning when not in full sun. This is two coats without top coat. The polish takes its name from the line “The guitar sound is incendiary” by the character William Miller.

YOU ARE HOME

How can you not love this polish? You Are Home is a mint green crelly with rainbow pearl and silver flakes. The name is from the line by character Penny Lane to William Miller when she tells him “You are home”. I found the polish a bit sheer so what you see is three coats with a top coat of Celestial Cosmetics Solar Ray Quick Dry Top Coat.

LADY

I think Lady is a great twist on the traditional nude polish. It’s a pinky-brown crelly with red shimmer and blurple flakes. This polish is called Lady as it’s the character Penny Lane’s real name. On application, it’s a bit sheer on the first coat but it builds up nicely by two coats. What you see is two coats with a top coat of Solar Ray.

WE ARE BAND AIDS

We Are Band Aids is another stunning holo from this collection and my personal favourite. Yes! I know. I’m a sucker for purple, especially in holo form! This is a purple linear holo with a red/pink flame. It’s more beautiful in real life! This polish takes its name from what the groupies in the movie call themselves: band aids. What you see is two coats without top coat.

SET YOU FREE

Set You Free will become a staple summer polish for a lot of people I think. It’s an orange-red jelly with red sparks, gold flakes and orange/green iridescent microglitter. I also thought I saw some hints of pink in there in the sun. Set You Free’s name is inspired by a quote by the character Anita Miller, William Miller’s sister. I thought this polish might be sheer because it’s a jelly but surprisingly it’s not. What you see is two coats with a top coat of Solar Ray.

Does Anybody Remember Laughter? is a classic beautiful blue polish. It’s a periwinkle blue crelly base with blurple microflakes. Gorgeous! It has such a nice purple shift in the sun. This polish’s name is from a line by the character Sapphire. I reckon this polish would look good with undies as it does take three coats to build it up to what you see here. I’ve also topped it with Solar Ray.
