Dry, Dammit!

A nail blog by an impatient polisher

Hello! Ever since I saw Pshiiit’s blobbicure nail art I have wanted to try it myself. I’m not sure if Camille is the creator of the look, but whoever it is I am very thankful they thought of it! I think it looks so fun and spontaneous.

For my blobbicure I’ve gone a bit fluro and used MODE Love Me as the base and Peita’s Polish Pink Blitz from the June 2014 What’s In-die Box? as the blobs. Pink Blitz “blobbed” really well and while I stuffed up a few fingers and had to retry, I got there in the end. I found the trick was not to put on a heavy base polish, otherwise the top polish is too runny and pools together, rather than in blobs.

I really want to try this look again soon! Believe it or not it’s very quick to do, so if you’re stuck for time but want to try something different for nail art, give it a go. Thanks for reading!

  1. I like this effect. Very pretty. Do you ‘blob’ the top colour down while the base colour is still wet? Not sure about how the technique works.

    • Yes, I painted just one “average” coat of polish on my nail and then dipped the other polish brush in its bottle once to get a decent drop on the end. Then blobbed it all on from that one drop, really. If you click on the link to Pshiiit above you will see how she does it. I also find it helps to do one nail at a time.
