Hello hello! Today I’m bringing you OPI Vesper, which is from the 2013 Bond Girls Collection – a collection full of textured polishes (or, as OPI calls them, “Liquid Sands”). But first, I wanted to thank you for your patience over the past month or so. On February 1 my husband and I welcomed our baby boy Archer into the world. I’ve posted a photo of him here on IG. He’s five weeks old now and the time has gone so fast! I’m really loving being a mother and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have this little guy in my life. I’m actually typing this post up with him wrapped around my front, snoozing. So cute.
Anywho, I bought Vesper when it was on special once from Catch of the Day before the site was revamped and now always seems to have a continuous OPI sale. I had wanted it for ages and while I’m glad I now own it, it hasn’t lived up to my expectations – it’s much more black than I thought. I wanted it to be a bit more purple. In the bottle if you hold it up to the light it has a really nice purple “glow”, I thought.
Vesper is a purple jelly base with black glitter – I’ve applied two coats and it looks a bit patchy in the light but I liked that you could tell it was purple. Otherwise I would have used three coats, but I had a feeling it would go really dark. Obviously I haven’t used a top coat. When cleaning this up I found the little gritty bits to be so difficult to remove from my cuticle area! They loved to just stick in there, so I cleaned up as best I could and washed my hands as soon as possible after, which got rid of most of the grit.
- Where to buy: Catch of the Day, Glow Cosmetics
- Cost: Depends on sale on Catch of the Day, AU$16 at Glow Cosmetics
- Volume: 15ml
- Coats to opacity: Two, but I would recommend three
These pictures are really old (from last year) so I want to wear Vesper again now to see how I feel about it, maybe I’ll grow to like it more. What do you think? Thanks for reading!
