Dry, Dammit!

A nail blog by an impatient polisher

OPI Dutch Tulips

*Nothing to disclose

Hello! Recently Priceline has been selling a very limited number of OPIs (I think they’re all from the core collection) for AU$10, which is a steal for OPI in Australia. I’ve never heard of Dutch Tulips before (I’d only heard of Kiss Me On My Tulips from the Holland Collection) but when I saw it was a beautiful cherry red in the bottle, I bought it straight away. I don’t think I’ve been so captivated by a red before.

As you can see, it’s a classic red colour – leaning more pink than blue – and has a wonderful “cherry” look about it. This is two coats with Seche on top. Application was easy and really quick with a steady hand. I haven’t worn a red polish in a long time so I felt very grown up. I think this kind of red goes better with my skin tone than other reds, so if you’re a pale white like me this could be the red polish for you.

  • Where to buy: Priceline
  • Cost: AU$10
  • Volume: 15ml
  • Coats to opacity: Two

If only every day OPI could be AU$10. I would have a heap more in my collection, that’s for sure. I also think Dutch Tulips would be lovely on your toes for summer, since it is such a classic-looking colour. Thanks for reading!

  1. Yay opi for $10! Its a very wearable red!

  2. If you love opi there’s an Aussie etailer maconii.com that stock 110 opis for $12. They’ve always been quick to deliver. Worth checking out.

  3. Such gorgeous pictures in this post!
    Loving the nail porn.

  4. The priceline specials have been good haven’t they? OPI for $10 each and check out the Essie’s they’ve been having rolling specials with them ranging from $5 a bottle to around $8.50 a bottle, which is a good price considering that they are around $17 normally.

You can often get discontinued OPI colours for deals such as 2 for $15 or 3 for $20 at places such as cosmetics plus and some of the discount stands in the city. Terry White had a whole heap of them for $12 each or 2 for $20 in bargain bins this week….This is not good for my budgeting:-(

Then there is ebay. You can get some really good bargains on Ebay. I’ve got to the stage where even $10 for an OPI is pushing it for price for me. Often you can get new OPI’s and Essie’s in job lots for less than $10 each….and the quality is there.

The Dutch Tulips is a beautiful colour, screams summer.

    • The Essies I’ve seen on special at Priceline have been great, although I have snapped too many up. I’ve bought some OPIs on eBay before and I’ve had no problem with the sellers or service. And you’re right, $10 for an OPI is pushing it on eBay! 🙂

      • I know, but then I go look at the latest offerings from Picture Polish and Emily de Molly and resolve to spend money there….indie and much cheaper than the big name brands.

Your blog is great, enjoy reading your posts.

        • Thank you so much for saying that, it means a lot. Especially with my frequent “breaks” lately from posting. I have awesome readers and followers who are very patient!

Please leave a comment! I read every one and always reply.
