Geometric negative space nail art using essence Purple Sugar, Hello Hipsters & Grab This Hype

Evening! Tonight is a quick post just to show off some nail art I recently wore, I’m calling it “geometric negative space” purely because I didn’t know what else to describe it as, feel free to let me know a better name. Anywho, it features two polishes from essence’s Yes, We Pop! trend edition: Grab This Hype (almost a mint green) and Hello Hipsters (almost a pale blue). I say “almost” in those brackets because I think they’re still relatively bright enough not to be labelled as pastels. I guess that’s why they’re from a collection called Yes, We Pop! πŸ™‚ I’m also using another essence polish called Purple Sugar, which is a muted purple with pink undertones. I hope you like it!

To achieve this look I used nail art tape to segment off a T shape on my nails (I had a base coat on). I then carefully applied each polish randomly to one area of the created T section with the brushes of the polishes. Luckily these polishes were pigmented enough that they really only required one thick coat. After filling all the gaps in, I pulled off the nail art tape with tweezers and topped with a thick coat of Seche.

I’m really happy with the result and reckon I’ll be doing another negative space design again soon, it seems to be all the rage at the moment. I just realised I did a negative space design in May last year but just didn’t call it negative space. I’m ahead of my time, ha ha. Thanks for reading!
