Good evening! Tonight I bring you four polishes from Face of Australia’s latest collection called Screen Siren. As I love Marilyn Monroe (which this collection is based upon) I love the premise of this collection, however, I’m not that much into its execution unfortunately. I just think there should have been one deep red. Sorry, I’m so stereotypical!

Anywho, I have four of its polishes to show you: No Angel, Isn’t it Delicious, Some Like it Hot and Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. The collection overall consists of eight polishes, which includes a matte top coat, but in my swatches below I show you both glossy via Seche and matte thanks to my trusty Rimmel London Matte Top Coat – so far the best matte I’ve found! Quick drying and it actually looks matte. Also in the collection there are four nudes – but I have just one, No Angel, because I felt that it suited me best. And then (if you’re counting with me) there are three colours, which I have all of. Yay! Let’s get to it.

No Angel

So in case you don’t get it the first three are with a matte top coat and the final two pictures are with Seche. I really liked this polish because it’s a pink-toned nude creme and I don’t really have anything like it. The rest of the nudes in the collection are darker and I wasn’t into them. What you see is two coats. A bit streaky on first coat, but perfect in two.

Isn’t it Delicious

This is a bright green creme. I really love it, as it’s not a true green (green doesn’t do much for me). It’s definitely got a lot of blue in it. Again, two coats. I should also let you know that during my time of wearing these colours I got a few cuts on my index finger and ring finger so I apologise for that.

Some Like it Hot

This is a pumpkin-like orange creme. I found that it stained my cuticles, as you can clearly see… clearly you need to be neater than me! What you see is two coats. I personally preferred this one matte. The colour did seem to change ever so slightly.

A vivid fuchsia creme. Probably the standout polish for most I reckon. I preferred it glossy, but matte is OK… maybe with some stamping? What you see is two coats.

The Screen Siren Collection is again in the awesomeย piCture pOlish-like bottles, which I give 10/10. The colours (and nude) I own are really pretty but to be honest, as a nail polish collector I would just be recommendingย Isn’t it Delicious. Face of Australia has done a good job, creating polishes reminiscent of Marilyn’s love of colour and sleeping in the nude (apparently), but I think for the average nail polish purchaser this might go over your head. What do you think? Thanks for reading!

  1. Isn’t It Delicious looks fab with a matte finish, I wouldn’t usually matte a colour like that but you’ve inspired me to give it a go!! I really like the look ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Great! I’m happy to inspire. ๐Ÿ™‚ I felt I had to give all colours a go in matte as well as gloss considering one of the polishes in the collection is a matte finish.

  2. No Angel would make such a good base for so much nail art! And the bright colours are awesome, too!

And I hear you on a matte top coat that actually looks matte, I have been using Orly’s one but I don’t find it looks matte!

    • I agree about No Angel – in fact I did some watercolour nail art I was going to post tonight on top of it… Although it’s not my best watercolour I still really liked it! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve tried a few mattes… One I have but haven’t tried is by MODE, worth checking out maybe?
