Hello! If you follow me on Instagram (please do! Find me at @drydammit or click here) you might have noticed during the week I was wearing a beautiful red polish by Golden Rose. Well, today I bring you the full story of it. Golden Rose is a brand I found while travelling, and I have to say it’s such a pity we don’t have it here in Australia. You can buy it on eBay though at quite a reasonable price.
Anywho, one of the Golden Rose polishes I bought is called 106 (sadly numbers as names) and it’s from the Matte Velvet Collection. It’s a gorgeously opaque pink-leaning red with bits of shimmer through it. If you haven’t gathered, it dries matte, rather than glossy. It’s a true one coater, which I was impressed with, and dried super quick. However, I’m assuming due to only needing one coat and no top coat, it chips like anything! You’d have to re-apply at the end of every day.
I found the bottle to be awesome too, a really ergonomic lid with a pretty decent brush. The overall aesthetic of the bottle is quite slimline and matches the matte theme. I wanted to see what the colour looked like with top coat, so I put on a second layer of 106 with top coat and I think it looks pretty good!
You probably can’t tell from the photo, but it obviously was way more shiny!
So if that wasn’t enough for you, I then decided to dress up my nails with some fancy nail art. I didn’t know what else to call it, ha ha. I used some nail studs I bought in Europe by essence as part of its Dark Romance Collection. The stud pack is called What Gothic Girls Want. It’s got some other tiny studs that I look forward to using… stay tuned!
Although I don’t have a lot of matte polishes, I’m quite happy with 106. Oh, while I remember I updated my stash page with all the recent European and Australian polish I’ve bought. Turns out I now own 488! Whoa, much?! Thanks for reading!
