The Cuteberry Nail Challenge day 3: Wonder Woman nails

*Nothing to disclose

Hello! Today I have day three of The Cuteberry Nail Challenge to show you. Its theme is your favourite comic book character. Sorry this has taken so long; I put it off because for a start I don’t really have a favourite comic book character and secondly, I haven’t had a lot of time to sit down and do some proper nail art lately.

So I decided to do Wonder Woman nails, inspired by the colours of her costume. I’m not sure about Wonder Woman though, I like her because she’s a woman superhero, but I don’t like how sexualised she is pictured in some of the images I Googled. Here’s what I used for inspiration, a picture of Lynda Carter from the ’70s TV show The New Original Wonder Woman.

As you can see, I stamped some stars onto my pointer finger to resemble the pants Wonder Woman wears. Then, on my middle finder I tried to replicate Wonder Woman’s headpiece… with a crappy freehand star! I am so sorry about that, it looks really ugly. My ring finger and little finger are just meant to be some detailing from Wonder Woman’s corset thingo. I wish I had a bit more creativity, ha ha.

Polishes I used:

  • BC Co. Shade 21 (blue)
  • Models Prefer No Angel (white)
  • Models Prefer Little Black Dress (black)
  • W7 (no name) (gold)
  • Essence Fame Fatal (red)

Well, that’s for tonight – I must think of my favourite textile or fabric now! Thanks for reading!

  2. This a tough one, as I agree, female comic book characters (and many others) are extremely sexualised. It’s very frustrating. Anyhoo, I think you did a great job, and i like the way you used all of the costume, not just the obvious bits.

    • Thank you, it could of used a bit more finesse I think, but I’m glad to get it over and done with honestly, this one was a tough one for me! I agree though, it’s not just women superheros sexualised, but men too.
