Hello! I wanted to do a quick update tonight to show you what I have been wearing today, I absolutely love it, even though it’s really simple and I think everyone’s done it before. I just come back from going out to dinner on a double date with my husband and one of his friends and partner – I have never done that before so it was heaps of fun to meet someone new and do something a bit different on a weekday night.
Anywho, moving on to the nails! I did a polka dot manicure with two Essence polishes: Hello Marshmallow! (lilac) and That’s What I Mint! (mint in case you didn’t realise, ha ha). Both have a shimmer to them, Hello Marshmallow! has more of blue and pink shimmer, while That’s What I Mint! has more of a silver and green shimmer to it. On the nail however the shimmer in both the polishes seems to be non-existent. I’m not sure what’s going on there.
I put down two coats of Hello Marshmallow! and then using a dotting tool, dotted the polka dots on with That’s What I Mint! On my ring finger however I reversed the combination so That’s What I Mint! is two coats with the polka dots of Hello Marshmallow! on top.
I had to take most of my photos outside today because it was so dark inside! Damn the cooler weather and the shorter days. I should also mention I found the formula of both Hello Marshmallow! and That’s What I Mint! to be exceptional. That’s What I Mint! could even be a one-coater, but I used two just in case.
- Where to buy: Priceline
- Cost: AU$2.75
- Volume: 8ml
- Coats to opacity: Two (for both Hello Marshmallow! and That’s What I Mint!)
I also just want to quickly mention that I’ve created a new tab in the top right called Where I shop. I’ve only completed a few parts of it so far but my intention is to have a comprehensive list of where I shop as a Tasmanian. This is both in bricks and mortar stores and online. Go and check it out now and let me know what you think.
You can also let me know what you think of my polka dot nails in the comments section. I really liked the colour combination of the lilac and mint together; it might have a more spring/summer feel to it but I’ve always bucked the trend. I just like wearing what I wear. Thanks for reading!
